A new study has found the top and worst airlines in the UK based on customer evaluations, just in time for the summer vacation rush. Forbes Advisor, a pricing comparison and financial advising tool, studied 20 major airlines. 

It analysed data from travel review sites and Twitter to determine which scored the highest for user ratings and responsiveness to complaints and other consumer issues.

Jet2

Jet2 does exceptionally well in online reviews, having the highest per cent of five-star ratings on both Trip Advisor (62%) and TrustPilot (77% five-star reviews0. It also got the lowest rate of one-star evaluations on both platforms, with only 6%. 

The airline’s Twitter presence was also generally positive: during the seven days that tweet to the airline were tracked, it received 111 tweets and publicly reacted to 58 of them, resulting in a 52% reply rate. That is the fifth-best response rate in the survey, with an average response time of 231 minutes, ranking 11th.

Virgin Atlantic

Although there was a significant disparity in the percentage of five-star ratings on the review platforms, Virgin Atlantic scored as the second-best airline in the survey. It scored only 18% of five-star reviews on TrustPilot, while 51% of reviews on TripAdvisor awarded it the highest grade.

TUI

TUI came in third place. The airline flying from Birmingham Airport to Barbados, Spain, Cyprus, and Mexico received top scores in 67% of TrustPilot ratings, but only 33% of TripAdvisor customers believed it earned five stars.

The airline has 12 Boeing 787-9s on order, and the first of those jets should be delivered to the airline late this year for entry into service in early 2024.

The airline has now revealed the full details of what interiors we can expect on these Dreamliners.

Hawaiian Airlines’ new Boeing 787-9s will feature 300 seats.

This includes 34 fully flat business class seats with direct aisle access, representing the first time that the airline has offered direct aisle access from every business class seat.

Business Class seats are in a 1-2-1 configuration and feature doors.

On top of that, the airline will have 266 economy class seats, nearly one-third of which will feature extra legroom.

The airline selected the Adient Aerospace Ascent seat which is the same product that Qatar Airways has on its Boeing 787-9s.

American Airlines is expected to use a customized version of this product as its new long haul business class seat.

The business class seats will be known as the Leihōkū Suites, and each seat will have an 18″ personal entertainment monitor, power outlets, and wireless charging.

The centre seats are designed in such a way that couples will essentially be head-to-head in the reclined position if the partition is lowered (though it’s not a double bed, in the typical sense of the word).

Hawaiian Airlines’ current fleet of A330s feature flat beds, though they’re in a 2-2-2 configuration, and aren’t particularly comfortable.

The seat seats on the 787 are a huge improvement and UCT looks forward to reviewing them in the future.

Upon returning to the hotel, they can try their hand at baking Irish soda bread using the chef’s secret recipe.

For those interested in immersing themselves in Irish culture, the hotel offers a night of storytelling with a traditional seanachai (Gaelic for “storyteller”).

Guests can gather around and listen to captivating tales that have been passed down through generations, providing a glimpse into Ireland’s rich folklore and heritage.

Sports enthusiasts can indulge in a unique horse racing experience with a leading horse trainer, where they can learn about the training techniques, care, and history of thoroughbred horses.

It’s an opportunity to get up close and personal with these magnificent animals and gain insights into the thrilling world of horse racing.

To start the day off on a memorable note, guests can enjoy a private rooftop “Breakfast By Design” experience.
